Tea Ceremony

Did you know that the Tea Ceremony was born as a meditation of the Buddhist monks of Japan? Only in the Middle Ages the tea Ceremony left the monasteries and become comon custom in all the houses till it became one of the most important tourist attractions for the European and American visitors of the country. What an interesting transformnation.
And, finally, the ancient tradition turns back to it's origins in the teachings of the buddist monks like Tich Nath Hahn who explains this meditation to his western disciples. You can read about it here

  1. Don't know that but I do know that there is a tea drinking ceremony during Chinese weddings where the newly weds offer tea to the parents and other relatives and get ang pows, packets containing money or jewellery in return.
