Moxibustion Useful for Pains, Arthritis and Many Other Deseases

What do you think about the rejuvenation of the skin? Do you believe in all these creams? Specially those which we see in the malls? Honestly; I do not believe. And those "50 but looks like 18" without any surgery etc - I do not believe them, too. Madonna, Sharon Stone and others could not do anything with all their money and necessities of the job. What can we say about all the others?

But in the years I had the possibilities to meet people from Asia, I noticed they have the skin of the face and neck much more young than we have. Those have to be genetic peculiarities but the habits and cultural customs, I think, too. This is why, when I learned about some new for me Chinese traditional medicine techniques, I decided to purchase the tools and to try these ways.

One of these therapies is burning of the mugwort (artemisia) cigarettes in a kind of wooden box that you post on the painful place of your body.

Here are the photos about how it works.
I use it myself regularly for my neck aches and can list here the benefits we have. Together with my husband - because the smoke of the burning artemisia can inspire all who are present in the room (the cat does not like it and goes under the bed when I burn moxa)

So the benefits we have are:
we are more relaxed
we sleep better
the pain goes away (not forever, unfortunately)

My Difficult Relationship With Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils (different balms etc) for healing purposes. The molecules enter in our nose, then pass directly in our brain. Our immune system responds on this "provocation" creating complicated chemical processes. That is how it works. And that is why it works much more fast than any other therapy.

It's clear that this kind of therapy was one of the first branches of medicine. Not only. From the first years of his existence, homo sapience uses balsamic substances for spiritual rituals and conservation - from foods to bodies.

Did you know that the Antic Romans were very able to create perfumes? And they made them from roses and lilies. This production was so large that it's possible to call it industry. In such excavation sites like Pompei and nearby villas were found entire plantations of flowers.

Now, you are maybe curious, why I wrote that strange title? Was it only to attract your attention? No, it's truth. I really do not support most smells and am not a good object for aromatherapy. Since I prefer alternative medicines, as you know, I would like to use essential oils for the cures. But... Nothing to do. Why? I don't know. It's an error of the Creator, I think. Or maybe, better, it's His plan, since it's difficult to think that the Creator can to have errors. :-)))

Aromatherapy: Relax, Smell Nice, Be Healed

Whether you experience aching muscles, itchy or irritated skin, general body pains, or you simply want to live a healthier, well-balanced lifestyle, aromatherapy’s got a little in store for everyone.  Aromatherapy is rapidly gaining popularity as an alternative source for healthy living.  With cheap, easy, and effective strategies that can be easily practiced and maintained in the comfort of one’s home, it’s no great mystery as to why this is.  But many everyday folks still don’t really understand what this relatively new practice actually entails.  Hopefully, this article should remedy that by giving readers a quick whiff of what aromatherapy is all about.
First of all, aromatherapy is essentially the use of natural oils extracted directly from various plant parts for the enhancement of physical and psychological health.  These natural oils include commonly known items like sage, lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, rosemary, and many more, each with a unique effect on the body and/or mind.  The ways in which the various oils are used are generally broken up into five distinct methods:
- Massage
Aromatherapy massage is the art of blending drops of these powerful oils with other massaging agents to enhance the olfactory and physical experience of the massage.  Use of aromatherapy massage oils can create a distinct sensory experience, as well as a physically gratifying experience.  The oils not only invigorate or relax the senses; they also seep into the skin and offer various health benefits depending on the oil.
- Bath
By simply adding a few drops of therapeutic oils to the water of your bath, you can easily and comfortably receive the benefits of those oils while relaxing in the rich water.
- Vapor Inhalation
Most of us have experienced the immediate benefits that a steamy shower lends a stuffy nose.  By inhaling certain vapors of these essential oils, similar and lasting sinus and respiratory health benefits can be obtained.
- Creams and Lotions
Just as the massage therapy works, by putting a few drops of essential aromatherapy oils in your daily lotions and creams, your skin absorbs and reaps the benefits associated with each one.
- Compression
An especially effective aromatherapy for stubborn muscle or menstrual cramps, the compression method simply entails placing a washcloth in a bowl of warm water that contains drops of the essential oils of your choice and placing them over the area of discomfort.
Knowing about these methods and the general science behind aromatherapy is all it takes to get started.  Now, just by doing a bit of research into the many popular essential oils used and their related benefits, one can be begin realizing the strength of these amazing therapies in the comfort of their own home.  I have personally noted great results in my own experiences with aromatherapy, and I have just only begun to scratch the surface.
