Join the World's International Day of Compassion.

Here is the message I received today and was asked to pass it to all my friends and readers
From other side, in the times when we remained without our believed blogger communities like My Blog Log this is the possibility to join a new one that, I hope, will take it's place.

On May 15, 2011 Bloggers and other social media participants will blog about the importance of Compassion.
“Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival.”
~ Dalai Lama
What makes this event special?
1.) With your HELP we are petitioning the United Nations to designate MAY 15 as the world's International Day of Compassion.
2.) To raise awareness about Compassion as this can only lead to good.
3.) The first International Day of Compassion is in honor of the "Real" Dr. Patch Adams whose compassion extends beyond any borders. We hope that as a result of this day Dr. Adams will further his cause of building his "dream" hospital.
4.) We believe that with the disasters, man-made and those caused by nature, it is vital that the world community dedicate one day to raise awareness and take compassionate action.
5.) TO UNITE together as bloggers and micro-bloggers, Twitter and FaceBook users and make a real, long lasting, sustainable positive difference to our world.
I know that you receive a ton of requests to do good. Why participate in this event in particular?
BloggersUnite is a non-profit in the true sense of the meaning. It makes no profit. It is completely funded by BlogCatalog.
With that in mind, I ask you to PLEASE JOIN us at BloggersUnite & submit your blog post, grab an Action Badge, and/or sign up to support this cause. Write about whatever you want related to compassion. We are an issue-agnostic platform that promotes issues that are of importance.
If you want to get your hand's dirty and assist me in drafting the Petition to the Secretary-General of the UN you'll find it here.
Once you have blogged or tweeted about the event, please make certain you visit BloggersUnite and list your blog post so that others can read it.
Your feedback and suggestions are encouraged and welcome. Also, if you run a non-profit or are an NGO and wish to be part of this movement please contact me and we can partner with you and get you compassionate organization exposure.
Isn't it time for more compassion?
Best,
Tony
