5 Clever Advices To Change Bad Habits

Freud, I think, said that all our psychological problems go back to our mother. Mother or not mother, they surely have a long history. Many of us tryed to go back to that time -I know about "practices" when the healer conducts the patient even in his/her previous lives to find the source of the problem.

Well, save your money and don't go to the healer. Last researches affirm you can heal these habits in this actual moment. Because they are nothing else as automatisms and -as such- can be interrupt.

What to do?

1/ Recognize the fact that bad habit is a strong and steady and impulse.
2/ Notice impulses, how many times they present. Practically have a diary of this bad habit.
3/ When the bad habit presents? When you are bored? When you watch TV? Are in the car? Practically you have to understand if you are not concentrated in these moments.
4/ Try different techinques of relax and use them when you are in the situation when bad habit emerges.
5/ Begin to do something completely different in this moment. To caress your dog or cat for example.

The most important is awareness.

  1. Yes, why blame it on mothers when it is ourselves who are at fault!

  2. I agree with you, Footiam, I could never understood where these affirmations come from.

  3. Ah, they come from a lot of research and work spanning over a century. Ok, don't blame your mother as its not always her, but its true your present problems come from your own past.

Forget past lives, that is very rare occurrence and mostly a con by certain deluded hypnotherapists that I do not associate with (I am a hypnotherapist, by the way)

Most of your bad and good habits are formed early in your own life by things that affected you either nicely or badly as a child, this is true.

It is also true that you can quit any bad habit any time you want, but you have to intend it, and totally want it to change. Then you can change.

No tricks, no fancy frills, simple desire to change is enough.

  4. Thank you, Terry for your comment and for confirmation of this methodic. I knew about it but logically I did not know if it is scientifically proved.

I have sometimes a great fear of something, but I just understood this simple way to act to fight it and the life becomes more happy because it helps to avoid sufferings.

What I find difficult too is to become aware of the situation.
